Smallest 17-inch business notebook in 15-inch form factor
If desktop replacement notebooks are usually big and heavy, the new TUXEDO InfinityBook S 17 – Gen6 takes a different approach: Due to its extremely thin screen bezels all around, the 17-inch business notebook not only achieves an above-average screen-tobody ratio, but also integrates a large 17.3-inch Full-HD IPS display on case dimensions of 395 x 250.7 x 19.8 mm, which were typical for 15.6-inch notebooks just a few years ago.
Thus, the partial aluminum chassis (display lid and bottom panel) in discreet black even fits into standard 15.6 inch notebook bags and accordingly, TUXEDO Computers also offers suitable carrying cases, in which not only the device fits, but in which additional utensils can also be transported.
Smallest 17-inch TUXEDO notebook
The InfinityBook S 17 features an ergonomic and cooling-optimized Lift-Up hinge, Thunderbolt 4, a large 73 Wh battery and a relatively low weight of only 2.25 kg.
The large Linux office notebook comes with Intel’s efficient 11th gen Tiger Lake processors with up to the Intel Core i7-11370H and a TDP of 35 watts. If the 4 cores, which can process up to 8 threads simultaneously, are not utilized, the CPU works powerefficiently and helps saving battery life.
The processor’s integrated Iris Xe Graphics with 96 Execution Units takes care of screen output and graphics rendering. For demanding tasks, the iGPU gets access to up to 64 GB of 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM in a performance-optimized dual-channel system (two available slots).
Ergonomic Lift-Up hinge and large battery
For a more ergonomic typing experience the InfinityBook S 17 comes with its Lift-Up hinge, which uses the rear edge of the display lid as a stand and thus raise the notebook at an angle of around 2.3 °.
In addition to improved ergonomics due to the slightly angled keyboard, more fresh air can be sucked in by the single fan this way, which ensures a cooler and quieter operation of the device.
Another highlight is the clickpad with integrated buttons, which is huge in relation to the overall device and also enables comfortable working without additional peripherals.
The large, internally screwed 73 Wh battery allows a long mobile use of the 17.3 inch office notebook and enables runtimes of around 6-7 hours in practical office use with medium brightness (~ 150 nits) and browsing the web.
Thanks to its integrated FlexiCharger, the battery’s charging can be limited in the BIOS to increase the battery’s lifespan.
Universal connectivity
In addition to data speeds of max. 40 Gbit/s, the Thunderbolt 4 port offers the possibility to connect up to two 4K monitors via the integrated DisplayPort signal. Power Delivery DC-In also allows charging the notebook via a practical USB-C power adapter (requirement: 20V, min. 3.25A).
Besides HDMI 1.4b for connecting a third external screen, a total of four USB ports are available on the data side, as well as a microSD card reader and the obligatory RJ 45 LAN port.
